A TASTE OF DAHL

Sat 08 Oct 2011

Introducing the wacky, joyous and fast paced collection of Roald Dahl’s work, this one-man show is sure to delight those who love Dahl – and also those new to his stories!

Using only Dahl’s own words, Anthony Pedley - the actor who created the role of The BFG on the stage – shows how Dahl’s early life may have influenced his writing, and where his ideas might have come from.

Dahl found writing a challenge, but discovered that ‘the only way to write a book, or a story, that children are going to fall in love with is for it to have certain essential ingredients…a good fast plot, lots of humour, and a mixture of some extremely nasty people, and some nice people!’

Excerpts from all the favourite books, including The BFG, The Witches, James and the Giant Peach, Matilda, The Twits, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and many more, help to bring to life the man and his craft - the magic of a master storyteller.

Tickets: £5

The performance lasts for an hour and includes a question and answer session.
