Training for Business

Our corporate training projects use drama techniques to assist businesses in areas such as communication skills and team development.  Each project is tailor-made.  We also work with companies to enhance their conference presentations. Paris Trip, Where’s George Today?, Devil’s Advocate and Mrs Superbug are short plays recently created with Penningtons’ Solicitors and presented in the Thames Valley and London.

Penningtons won The Southern Business Times Sustainability Award at The Arts & Business South East Awards 2006. The Award is in recognition of the innovative series of employment plays that Penningtons and The Watermill have developed over the last five years.

The Southern Business Times Sustainability Award honours a successful business / arts partnership that has been sustained over time to the maximum benefit of both participants. The partnership between The Watermill Theatre and Penningtons has progressed from corporate club membership to a highly-sophisticated, multi-faceted sponsorship. In conjunction with The Watermill's Outreach Director, Ade Morris, solicitors from Penningtons have presented specially devised, professionally produced plays on key workplace issues – such as constructive dismissal, whistle-blowing, flexible working, parental leave, stress and sexual harassment. The productions offer a lively, interactive alternative to the traditional legal seminar and demonstrate areas of Penningtons’ business across the region in an innovative way.
