The young performers have been working hard in rehearsals, particularly to learn the traditional New Zealand Haka for the show which runs from Wednesday 26 until Saturday 29 March. You’ll have to book tickets to find out why and to see the result of their efforts!

Rehearsals are underway for a new stage adaptation by Jessica Swale of Jane Austen’s classic novel Sense and Sensibility, which follows the changing fortunes of the Dashwood family. Jessica directed The Watermill’s sell-out production of Sleuth and received great critical acclaim for her play Blue Stockings when it was performed at Shakespeare’s Globe last year.
“I've loved Austen since picking up a copy of Pride and Prejudice as a teenager. The BBC was partly responsible... Colin Firth's now infamous lake dip left us all drenched, hooked and wondering how a nineteenth century woman could be so honest and insightful about relationships when most women of her time were hidden away, being 'seen and not heard'.
It is hardly surprising that Austen’s work is so often adapted for film as it is so rich in drama, but the job of adapting it for stage has been both a thrilling and intimidating process, and one which I feel has taught me more about Austen than any re-reading of her texts.” Jessica Swale
Book your tickets now for this captivating new adaptation and join us as we journey from Devonshire to London and back again. Thursday 3 April to Saturday 10 May. Tickets £26 to £14.50.
Sponsored by Cricketts Estate Agents and Regent Lettings.
