Outreach News - March 2011
Our Senior Youth Theatre production, The Girl Who Never Forgot, reaches the ‘frantic’ stage this month, as we prepare for our opening night on the 30th. Our fantastic cast – some thirty young actors aged 11 – 15 years – are putting their all into the production and so far are doing us proud.
Meanwhile Beth has started working with six rural primary schools on The Green of The Spring by Ade Morris – our production involving some 120 children. This month we’re working on some drama skills and improvisation games to get the children ready for when rehearsals start properly in April.
Elsewhere Ade is still working on a film with the Pheonix Centre, and as usual we’re working with local schools giving workshops, such as Trinity School, who are focussing on Faustus after they saw it here in the theatre in February. We’re also looking forward to welcoming our first student from Reading University on placement here at The Watermill, Hannah, who will be helping out with the Senior Youth Theatre for the month.
