The West Berkshire Federation of Village Schools collaborates again in this evocative tale of Newbury families during the First World War. Based partly on local events, the story follows two photographers and their families during the conflict, one of working class background, the other gentry. The sons and daughters of each household fall in love as the war overtakes all their fortunes. Packed with local colour, humour, poetry, song, the sights and sounds of our old market town and the horrors and absurdity of the war itself, over a hundred and twenty primary school children will perform this epic and moving local story.
