An Audience With... IAN HISLOP AND NICK NEWMAN

Tue 27 Sep 2016

A special fundraising event for The Watermill Theatre

After their comedy A Bunch of Amateurs played to packed houses at The Watermill in 2014, co-writers Ian Hislop and Nick Newman return to talk about The Wipers Times. From a writing collaboration that began when they were both in their teens at Ardingly College in West Sussex, Ian (writer, journalist, panel show contestant, Editor of Private Eye) and Nick (writer and satirical cartoonist), will discuss their professional partnership which spans over 30 years.

If you enjoy shows like Spitting Image, Have I Got News For You and My Dad’s The Prime Minister, Nick and Ian’s stage adaptation of the BAFTA nominated BBC film The Wipers Times will definitely appeal to you.

A comedic play about the satirical newspaper that was born from the muddy and bloody trenches of the Somme, to provide some light relief to troops who faced unspeakable horrors on a daily basis.

This event raises funds for The Watermill which is a registered charity, no. 261430.

The restaurant is open from 12 noon for lunch. Please make your reservation when booking your tickets.
