We are delighted to welcome back scientist, writer and broadcaster Rita Carter whose last Book Club event, Ten Ways to Keep Your Brain Young, was a huge success. Rita will give three insightful talks about different aspects of the brain.


We tend to take it for granted that a healthy mind makes for a healthy body. Scientifically, though, most of the evidence is about the effect of negative thinking: stress hormones, produced by anger and misery, eat away at our organs. But does this mean that positive thinking can do the opposite? Rita Carter examines the complicated mechanisms that link positive emotions to physical health.
