Join us on Tue 21 April for a rare opportunity to enjoy an exclusive post‑show talk with acclaimed writer and creator Daisy Goodwin (ITV’s Victoria and Victoria: A Queen Unbound).
Renowned for her ability to blend emotional depth with razor‑sharp insight, Goodwin has captivated audiences both on the page and on screen, breathing fresh life into historical stories we thought we knew.
Goodwin has worked in TV for thirty years - creating Grand Designs and Escape to the Country before turning to drama, with the ITV show Victoria. She has written four novels, including Victoria - a novel of a young queen and now she has written a play, Victoria: A Queen Unbound. Her interest in Victoria started at University when she was told to read the Queen’s diaries. “It was the beginning of a lifelong relationship.”
In this special event, she’ll share the inspirations, challenges and creative spark behind her work.

Hosting the evening is Jason Goodwin, historian, award-winning writer and also Daisy's brother.
Jason's bestselling Yashim detective series is set in 19th-century Istanbul. The Janissary Tree won the Edgar Award for Best Novel, and the series has been translated into over 40 languages. He is the author of Lords of the Horizons: A History of the Ottoman Empire, among other award-winning nonfiction, including Yashim Cooks: Istanbul, a cookbook.
‘When you read a historical mystery by Jason Goodwin, you take a magic carpet ride to the most exotic place on earth.’ New York Times
