Terms and Conditions for use of website, online and Box Office ticket sales:
1. Definitions
1.1 In these terms and conditions the following words shall have the meanings set out below:
"Booking Form" - means the page for the booking of tickets set out on the Theatre's website.
"Theatre" - means The Watermill Theatre Ltd of Bagnor, Nr Newbury

"Contract" - means any contract for the purchase of tickets made between you and the theatre.
"Confirmation" - means the confirmatory screen that appears when you make your booking online
2. Our Contract With You
2.1 These terms and conditions govern all Contracts.
2.2 Your Contract with the Theatre will be concluded as follows:
2.2.1 Completion of the Booking Form (including, for the avoidance of doubt, the provision of your credit or debit card details) shall constitute an offer by you to purchase tickets subject to these terms and conditions;
2.2.1 Upon electronic receipt of the Booking Form, the Theatre will check that you have correctly completed all parts of the Booking Form and confirm that you have sufficient funds to cover the total cost of the booking. Upon confirmation of these details, the Theatre will then charge your credit or debit card accordingly and a Confirmation will appear on the booking screen which shall constitute its acceptance of your booking you will also receive confirmation by email. If the Theatre receives a prompt notification that the Confirmation was not delivered successfully, then the Theatre will use reasonable endeavours to notify you of your booking by other means.
2.3 The prices and availability of the Tickets are specified on the Theatre's website. These details are based on the best available information and the Theatre is not obliged to conclude any Contract on these terms.
2.4 You are entirely responsible for entering your details correctly on the Booking Form. You warrant that all details supplied by you are true and accurate. If there are any changes to your details once your booking is concluded then it is your responsibility to inform the Theatre.
2.5 Where a person makes a booking on behalf of a party, that person accepts these terms and conditions on behalf of all members of the party and is responsible for all payments due from the party.
2.6 Booking services with the Theatre are only available to persons who are at least [18] years of age. By submitting a Booking Form you warrant and confirm to the Theatre that you comply with those arrangements.
2.7 The Theatre restricts the number of tickets available to book online to 9. Group bookings are made by contacting the Box Office by phone on 01635 46044 or by emailing boxoffice@watermill.org.uk. There is no limit to the number of tickets available to book by phone, or in person, subject to availability.
2.8 It is your responsibility to check that the details on the Tickets issued to you are accurate. The theatre cannot take responsibility for errors with your booking once processed.
3. Pricing
The price of all tickets displayed on the Theatre's website. Any delivery fees or applicable booking fees, including amendment fees are non-refundable. Where you have indicated on the Booking Form that you will collect the Tickets from the Theatre in person, a £1 charge shall be payable.
4. Terms of Sale
All Tickets must be paid for in full at the time of booking including any applicable delivery charges such as postage and admin fees.
Tickets will become void if sold on for profit or commercial gain.
Group Bookings and Reservations are subject to terms agreed and confirmed in writing at time of booking.
Beginners tickets can only be used by 16-30 year olds. When your ticket is scanned at the performance. You may be asked to show with a valid ID as proof of age. You can book up to two tickets (subject to availability), but every person in your group must be within the 16-30 age range on the date of the performance. Beginners tickets cannot be used by anyone outside of this age group.We reserve the right to refuse admission if these tickets have been incorrectly purchased.
5. Delivery
Our preferred method of delivery is E-tickets that will be sent by email after purchase. These do not have to be printed - you can show them on your smartphone or mobile device for us to scan on entry. Tickets may be posted to UK addresses for a fee that is published and paid for at time of booking. The Theatre shall use its best endeavours to post all Tickets to you within 7 days of making a booking. Should you wish to do so you may collect your Tickets from the Watermill Theatre Box Office you may do this by indicating this on the Booking Form. There is a £1 administration fee for this service.
The Theatre will not accept any responsibility for documents mislaid or lost by the Royal Mail or any other mail delivery service provider.
If you book Tickets for a production which will take place within 7 days of the date of the booking, posted tickets will be unavailable.
6. Alterations and Cancellations
The Theatre does not permit Tickets to be refunded after purchase, except where a performance has been cancelled or abandoned when less than half the performance has taken place. Where monies are refunded, such refunds are limited to the face value of the Tickets purchased.
Subject to availability, tickets may be exchanged for another performance of the same production up to 7 days before the show and subject to availability. Alternatively, we will offer to try and resell your tickets, but only after all other tickets have been sold. An admin fee of £2 per ticket applies to exchange or resell tickets. All exchanges and resales must be processed through the Box Office. All reimbursements from resold tickets are in the form of credit which will be valid for 12 months.
6.3 All Tickets are sold subject to the Theatre's right to make any alterations in the cast, programme or arrangements advertised on the Theatre's website or elsewhere which are rendered necessary by an unavoidable cause. In exceptional circumstances, the theatre reserves the right to provide alternative seats to those specified on the ticket.
Ticket Protection is available to purchase with all performances. This is through our partners at securemybooking.com and is subject to their terms Ticket Refund Protection – UK – Secure My Booking
The Theatre will also not be liable for any losses incurred by you in connection with your use of the Theatre's website, for any delay in using or your inability to use the website.
7. Website Use
7.1 The Theatre's website is for your own personal and non-commercial use. You may not modify, copy, distribute, transmit, display, perform, reproduce, publish, license, create derivative works from, transfer or sell any information obtained from this website.
7.2 All contents of this website, including any software, are protected by intellectual property rights and other related rights. No part of this website may be reproduced in any form (electronically or otherwise) without the prior consent of the Theatre other than temporarily in the course of using the Theatre's booking service.
7.3 You are not permitted to link to or use all or any part of the Theatre's website for any reason which is unlawful, defamatory, harmful obscene or objectionable and, in particular, you are not permitted to transmit anything which, in the Theatre's opinion, harms its business or in any way offends other users or persons.
7.4 You are also not permitted to alter the Theatre's website in any way or post onto or transmit to the Theatre's website, any material containing software viruses or files which may damage or disrupt the good working order of computer or telecommunications equipment.
7.5 The Theatre reserves the right to refuse or remove anything which is transmitted via or posted on the Theatre's website and which, in the Theatre's opinion, is objectionable or does not comply with these terms and conditions. The Theatre shall not in any way be liable for such actions.
7.6 The Theatre may record, preserve, trace and disclose anything which has been transmitted to, from or via the Theatre's website, where required by law or where the Theatre is acting in good faith.
8. Links to Third Party Sites
The Theatre's website may contain hyperlinks to websites operated by parties other than the Theatre. The operation of such websites is outside the Theatre's control and you proceed at your own risk. The Theatre does not endorse or sponsor and is not liable for the products, services or content you access through any linked site.
9. Data Protection
The Theatre will collect, use, store and disclose your personal details in accordance with our Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy can be accessed by clicking here or from the Theatre's website homepage.
10. Entire Agreement
It is the intention of the Theatre that all terms of the Contract between the Theatre and you are contained in these terms and conditions. If you wish to rely on any variation of these terms, you must ensure that such variation is in writing and signed by you and on behalf of the Theatre before any Contract is made.
11. Severability
If any part of these terms and conditions are not enforceable then this will not affect the enforceability of any other part.
12. Safety and Enjoyment
Latecomers and those seeking re-admittance are not guaranteed admission to the auditorium. Where possible, you may be admitted at the first suitable break which may be the interval. To avoid disturbance, you may be seated in seats other than those you have booked.
The Theatre cannot permit glasses or glass containers to be brought into the auditorium. Drinks are not permitted in the slips.
The use recording equipment in the auditorium is strictly forbidden.
Mobile phones, must be switched off or put into airplane mode before entering the auditorium.
To be admitted you must be in possession of a valid Ticket. Everyone entering the auditorium must have an allocated seat.
We have a range of family friendly productions and events available through the year. Please check the show pages on the website or with our Box Office team for recommended age guidance on productions. Unless a production is advertised as a family show, children under the age of four, including babes in arms, will not be admitted to the auditorium.
Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by, and seated with, an adult. The advertised ticket prices and concessions will apply for children of the specified ages. Babes in arms (babies under 24 months) can be admitted to family shows free of charge, with a babes in arm ticket as they will sit on the lap of the adult/s in their party. If you need to move from your seats, please ensure that any children remaining in the auditorium are always with an adult.
We offer free Essential Companion tickets for audience members who cannot attend without assistance. Essential companions should always attend to the needs of the disabled person while on the premises, without the assistance of theatre staff and volunteers. Instruction will be given should there be a need to evacuate the building.
Circle seating is only accessible via a steep spiral staircase with handrail. There are no lifts to this level. Customers seated in this area must be able to safely manage the stairs and be capable of leaving the area promptly in case of evacuation.
Strobe lighting, smoke effects and gunshots are sometimes used in productions. We will endeavour to give advanced warning if any such effects are to be used.
The Theatre or any permitted third parties may carry out general filming and sound recording in or about the venue. By purchasing tickets you consent to you and your party being included in and to the exploitation of such films and recordings without payment.
Dog’s must not left in vehicles on site, are not permitted into the foyer or auditorium, except for assistance animals.
Smoking and vaping is prohibited in all areas, except for designated outside smoking/vaping areas
Due to the unique arrangement of the auditorium, some seating may not offer a full and unrestricted view of the performance
Picnicking and camping are not permitted on the site or grounds
We reserve the right to refuse entry and may rescind your right to remain on our premises at any time. Any aggressive or abusive behaviour directed towards our staff or customers will not be tolerated. We consider abusive language (whether verbal or written) including threats, personal verbal abuse, derogatory remarks, rudeness, inflammatory statements, remarks of a racial or discriminatory nature and unsubstantiated allegations, to be abusive behaviour.
13. Governing Law
These terms and conditions and any Contract concluded incorporating these terms and conditions shall be governed by English Law and all disputes shall be submitted to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
