Outreach News - January 2011

We have kicked off the new year in full swing, with rehearsals already underway for Dr Faustus. Featuring just two actors playing all the roles between them, the production tours schools in February, as well as playing in the theatre here on the 10th and 11th Feb. We can’t wait to bring this fantastic play into the schools and see what the students make of it!

In the meantime we have started our next Adult Drama Course with a great new bunch of intrepid local thespians, and are welcoming back all our youth theatre groups after the Christmas break.

Our Senior Youth Theatre production, The Girl Who Never Forgot, which is on in the theatre in early April, is having its first rehearsals. As this is an action thriller set in the 1940s, the SYT are working on their cut-glass accents and mysterious stares.

We also have our Raising Voices first round deadline this month. In our bid to welcome and encourage new writing we have been accepting scripts steadily over the last few weeks. If you are interested, please go to our Raising Voices page.
