About Charley's Aunt
Brandon Thomas’ riotous farce Charley’s Aunt is given a glamorous glow-up in a new adaptation by Rob Madge, the award-winning creator of My Son’s a Queer (But what can you do?).
A fun, fresh, colourful glow-up
Bursting with energy
Spectacular. An incredibly talented cast
Two scheming students, Charley and Jack, must circumnavigate the curmudgeonly Spettigue to declare their feelings to love interests Amy and Kitty. The promised arrival of Charley’s Aunt gives them an opportunity and the best laid plans are set. One delayed arrival, one fortuitous arrival and lots of classic comic confusion later, the champagne is finally poured at a party to remember.
Mistaken identities, true identities and a sprinkling of queer joy, will love – old and new - triumph through it all?
Glorious
An absolute hoot
Brilliant. Definitely worth watching

Charley's Aunt in rehearsals

"I am thrilled to be adapting Brandon Thomas’ hysterical play, Charley's Aunt.
It already has all the ingredients of a classic farce - star crossed lovers, mistaken identities, belly laughs galore - so we are very lucky to have that as a foundation. It’s been my job to bring it bang up to date, whilst retaining the integrity of the original - don’t worry, we are still setting the piece firmly in Victorian England but there might be one or two surprises along the way. I can guarantee a night of laughs, joy and PRIDE! Hope you can come to the party!"
