About Fourth Wall
Our Fourth Wall project invites adults with learning disabilities to explore a play. Together we learn about the characters and storyline of the play, go to watch the production together and create our own version.
In theatre the ‘fourth wall’ is the invisible barrier between the stage and the audience. Each year at the Watermill, we ‘break the fourth wall’ of a production. We choose a story that is well-known and challenging.
This year we will be exploring Victoria: A Queen Unbound.
Sessions info:
Regular sessions will take place on Friday mornings - 10.30am to 12pm, from 13 Mar to 17 Apr at InteraKt (1st Floor, Rugby Club, Monks Ln, Newbury, RG14 7RW).
The final session will take place on Fri 24 Apr at 10am, where participants will perform their version of the story on the Watermill stage at 11am for invited friends and family.
Familiarisation Visits and support:
For many of us, trying something new, with new people, in a new place, can be daunting. Our familiarisation visits are a chance to meet the group facilitator and have a short tour of the space and facilities with us. If you would like to book a visit, please get in touch.
Please note that we will be working as a group and cannot guarantee one-to-one support for participants. If this is important to you, you are welcome to bring someone to support you; just let us know.
