The Watermill is a resource for the surrounding community and beyond. We take our shows to villages to provide access to professional theatre in rural areas; we help schools and colleges to deliver their curriculum; businesses to be more effective; and create opportunities for local people to be involved in the activities of their theatre.
New Term, New Opportunities!

Opportunities for Adults
Did you know we offer a variety of opportunities for adults?
Our regular, weekly groups Upstage
(for adults on a Monday night) and Encore!
(for retired adults) work with professional theatre makers to learn new techniques, polish acting skills, and explore performance in depth. For adults needing a monthly break from it all, Scene Change
is a relaxed session using drama games to stretch imaginations and play. Duologue
is our weekly group mixing young people and adults, who are hearing or Deaf. Adults with a learning disability are warmly invited to join Fourth Wall
, our programme that ‘breaks the fourth wall’ by unpacking a production in more depth alongside watching a performance.
And look out for our ad hoc events, including ‘The World Of…’ days, which reveal the secrets behind a production, and Scratch Choir days. Click here to find out more.
