About Double Act

Double Act is a supportive drama group for adults who are living with added complications, are neurodiverse, or have wellbeing needs.

In the first week, the group will watch a performance of Lark Rise to Candleford at the Watermill.

Then, over the 9 sessions, you will get to work with new people and use drama techniques to explore the themes of Lark Rise to Candleford and create a sharing in response to the show.

This is a fun and gentle group that will provide space to take time out, connect, explore and create.

Key dates:

Mon 9 Feb - at the Watermill
Tue 10 Feb - watching Lark Rise to Candleford performance, at the Watermill (7.30pm start)
Mon 27 Apr - at Boxford Village Hall, performing our sharing to invited friends and family

All other sessions are on Mondays at Boxford Village Hall

General FAQs

What do I need to bring?

Please wear comfortable clothes that are easy to move in and will keep you covered during physical activity. If you have any medication you may need to take, please bring it in a clearly labelled bag and ensure a member of the team is aware (by contacting the team prior to the session).

Do I need to have any previous experience?

No, our sessions are bespoke to the group we are working with, and we offer a very supportive environment.  Our session focuses on providing a safe space away from the everyday to have fun exploring our creative side, build self confidence and socialise.

Can you support my access need?

We want all of our activities to be as open, comfortable and inclusive as possible, so we’re always happy to chat about specific access needs to make your or their experience as smooth as possible.

Where will the course take place?

Our first two sessions are on-site at the Watermill Theatre, RG20 8AE. Session 1 is in our Rehearsal Room, in the furthest corner of our site, opposite a row of colourful sheds. Session 2 is watching the professional production in our theatre. The rest of our sessions will take place at Boxford Village Hall, Rood Hill, Newbury, RG20 8DD. What3Words address is ///letter.folks.storms
