About Fourth Wall

Our Fourth Wall project invites adults with learning disabilities to explore a play. Together we learn about the characters and storyline of the play, go to watch the production together and create our own version.

In theatre the ‘fourth wall’ is the invisible barrier between the stage and the audience. This project will ‘break the fourth wall’ of a Watermill production. We choose a production that is well-known and challenging.

This year we will be exploring our summer musical Jesus Christ Superstar.

Sessions info:

Regular sessions will take place on Friday mornings - 10am to 12.30pm, from 18 July to 29 August at Interakt (1st Floor, Rugby Club, Monks Ln, Newbury, RG14 7RW).

On Sat 30 August, the session will take place at the Watermill Theatre and will include watching the Relaxed Performance of Jesus Christ Superstar at 2.30pm.

The final session will take place on 5 September at 10am, where participants will perform their version of the story on the Watermill stage at 11am for invited friends and family.

Familiarisation Visits and support:

For many of us, trying something new, with new people, in a new place, can be daunting. Our familiarisation visits are a chance to meet the group facilitator, and have a short tour of the space and facilities with us. If you would like to book a visit, please contact us.

Please note that we will be working as a group and are not able to guarantee one-to-one support for participants. If this would be important to you, you are welcome to bring someone to support you; just let us know.

If you are interested in the group and have any questions, please contact our Community Associate Lixi Chivas
