The Boxford Masques 2021. A community show for West Berkshire.
Please note, this event takes place at Boxford Recreation Ground, RG20 8DD. All performances will take place under cover in a marquee.
Ever wondered what happens if you dig up a Roman mosaic and it comes to magic life? Or when a flying horse bursts from the ground and mythic robots walk the Boxford fields? How about when the brave but vain hero Bellerophon quests to find the Chimera - but takes an entire theatre audience, a fusty Edwardian couple, fifteen household Gods, a Greek princess, some hungry Furies and the Delphic Oracle with him - all by accident?
This action packed new Boxford Masque will whisk you on a crazy, comic, music, dance and imagination packed journey into the land of mosaics, myths and monsters, - where ancient stories become as real as the stage the company dances on, and our modern world melds with the marvellous, magical past.
