Arts Award and Arts Mark
The Arts Award is a national qualification that supports young people to develop as artists and arts leaders.
If you are already working towards your Arts Award, getting involved with activities and events at The Watermill could contribute towards completing your award.
Below are a few examples:
- Live theatre performances: Explore the arts as an audience member by watching and reviewing one of our shows.
- Take part: Explore the arts as a participant by taking part in a holiday course, attending a regular youth theatre or completing a work experience placement.
Look out for events on our website and in our brochure with the Arts Award symbol – we think these will be most suited to helping you complete your award.

The Watermill offers a range of opportunities that can assist your school’s Artsmark application.
Artsmark schools are provided with access to exceptional resources, professional expertise, offers and networks of cultural organisations. Any school setting can apply and, based on their achievements, are awarded Silver, Gold or Platinum.
Artsmark is the creative quality standard for schools, accredited by Arts Council England. Artsmark recognises schools that are making the arts come alive by introducing culture and creativity across the curriculum to engage their pupils and increase confidence.
Artsmark also supports young people to achieve their Arts Award.
